It's all about Christmas

I absolutely love, love, LOVE Christmas time, especially when it comes to Christmas crafts. I have quite a few crafty treats on the go at the minute and here is one I've just finished... A Christmas tree garland, I'm hoping to make a few more before I update my Folksy shop. What do you think, would you buy one?

Mini socks

I'm taking a break today from some of my bigger projects to have a go at making some mini hanging socks. I think this first one is quite cute so I'm hoping to make some Christmas themed ones to sell on my folksy shop which I'm due to open again soon. What do you think?

I'm enjoying watching the fireworks from the comfort (& warmth) of my living room, keeping my poor dog company :)

Art A-Level...not wasted!

Spending time painting with my favourite little man today, nice to know all my years of arts and crafts has not been wasted!

Halloween - the morning after!

Very disappointed not one trick or treater yesterday - and yet somehow most of the sweets disappeared - spooky! Me and my mum did manage to take my favourite little man trick or treating were he dressed up as a bat/mouse/witch/pumpkin combo. He did my make up and I did his! We both had a great laugh watching my mum chase after his witches hat down the road - good times! 

We also spent the day making Halloween cakes and mummy gingerbreads that were both very tasty :)

What a beautiful day it is here in Liverpool, sun is out, colourful leaves are decorating everywhere and my pumpkins are at the ready...

So excited as I also get to take Little Mister Pj on his first 'Trick or Treating' adventure, complete with his new pumpkin mask and torch...bring on the sweeties!

Tuesdays Crafty Club

Enjoying my Tuesday Crafty Club, so many new ideas, one i definitely have my eye on is this handmade embroidery thread holder, I have some beautiful linen that would be great to use for it. This one is made from recycled velvet and the needle holder on the end is a great addition. 

Lovely Gifts

After a month long expedition to Ecuador my little sis is back and it's like she was never away. She had a brilliant time and came home decked out in alpaca wool, coat, hat, socks :)

I was not out of her thoughts proven by my beautiful gifts a lovely handmade scarf and beaded ring.

Monday madness

Yeh! I'm very excited my sister is back today from a month long volunteer trip to Ecuador with a company called Camps International. I've missed her so much, even though she's ten years younger than me were very close, she's one of my best friends - I can't wait to see the changes in her, including her tan :)

Had to wave goodbye today to one of my favourite pieces of art work, to be fair it was my uncles (he also painted it) I was only borrowing it whilst he moved house but I've become quite attached to it.  The question is; what to put in the plain space left behind on my wall?

Mums been busy

My mums been busy making baby cardigans and blankets for friends - it seems like everyone is having babies, was there something in the water late last year? I've finally convinced her to join the Eskdale Gifts brand and start selling her makes on Folky with me.  There is not much on there right now as I've just ordered some new packaging and business cards I thought I would wait before adding anymore new items...expect lots of goodies online soon, including mums makes :)

Meanwhile this week I've been working with lots of colours, (bright, bold, primary, I thing I'm addicted to colours, especially when it comes to wool buying) there's a little taster photo below.

Peg bag: take 2

Here I am spending the morning making another peg bag. I have done this smaller for 2 reasons. 1; I want to make it quicker  so that I can work on refining my original pattern. Number 2; is that I have been commissioned to make 3 bigger versions of these peg bags for a friend of my mums and I want to make sure the colours and design meet her specifications. Here is what I've done so far :)

New Doctor

Okay I'll admit it; I'm a big nerd who loves Doctor Who and was very excited about the announcement of the new Doctor - Peter Capaldi, I think he's definitely up to the task of making the roll his own, but David Tennant will always be my favourite Doctor.

So happy today had such a lovely - and busy - day with my little mister Pj now he's back from his holidays.  Because I'm feeling so good i have decided to share this picture of us (along with Santè the dog) having a quick rest before we went back to playing football.  Hope everyone reading this has had a lovely and fulfilling day like me! Now I'm off to put my feet up and crochet some butterflies :) 

Happy August

I'm very happy today, after nearly a month away I get to see my gorgeous mister Pj, I've missed him so much and I'm all set for a day of painting, playing and for the first time; potty training! Wish me luck :)

Although not quite as cute as my little man these mini penguins are adorable! They must have taken some patience and talent to achieve.

One thing I want to introduce here in my blog are positive affirmations, quotes that inspire, bring happiness and new understanding.  I love nothing more than introducing these positive phrases into my works, as seen in my embroideries I did a few weeks ago.  So here it goes the start of my new weekly 'feel good phrases'...

Today is International Friendship Day, whether its a close knit few or a large group filled with different fun characters I hope you get as much enjoyment from your friends as I do with mine. :D

I've started embroidering some little people the last few days, not sure what I'm going to be doing with them yet, maybe some bookmarks or lavender bags, any ideas? 

Back to crafting

So it's been a busy few weeks, waving family off on their various holidays, working on the house and minding my mums two tortoise - Silky and Shiloh (and yes there is a slight Brad Pitt obsession that resulted in one of the names).  As I'm much more of a fluffy animal lover my mum has already sweetened me up with a beautiful bunch of mixed flowers (below) for me to admire as I clean out the stinky tortoise tank :s

Anyway as of today I'm back on the crafting bandwagon, got my sketch pad and pencils at the ready as I plan out my next projects - happy days :)

Wet dog

My dog really is a wimp, leaving me to go out on my own in the wet as he's scared of a little rain, he wouldn't even come down the stairs...I may ave to give him a bath later out of spite! *cue evil laugh* mwah ha ha ha har!

Future King

Seems we have a new future king here in the UK, I wonder what he's going to be called. I have to be honest I was hoping for a future Queen, but still happy - I'm a big royal lover!

Thank God it's Friday!

Feeling good today been to Tesco and got gifts for my mum and wrestled myself through 40 minutes on the runner and its only 8.30am, lots more to do today and its roasting already!

Me and my mum have been busy today, I've still got a bit more to go with my project but here's my mums cardigan and hat made for a friend of my brothers who is expecting a baby girl soon - I think shes done a beautiful job of them.

Here's a picture of another project I've been working on - a little pram blanket for a baby girl. Just got toads a few more rows, do a border and then I'm going to add a few white butterflies as decoration.

I've been up early today Pals, 5.30am to be exact. Went down the shop with pup,I was to early to even get the Saturday paper, on the runner for 40 mins, again down the shop for the now stocked news paper and milk. Now I'm sitting out in the sunny garden with a nice cuppa and my faithful kindle for some peace before everyone else starts their day.

Just had a lovely morning of pampering, its nit often that I treat myself (not including buying crafty bits!) dyed lashes, waxing and nails now am feeling all beautiful and ready to enjoy the sun, that yes is still here!

My tasks today will be attempting to finish some of my projects, half done flower pots, bunnies and blankets, which to do first?

Okay I know I've been terrible and completely ignored my self appointed blog writing duties the last few days - but it's so sunny!  As I have no holiday booked this year (unlike everyone else it seems) I'm determined to make the most of it. Although I haven't been sitting idle, well not much anyway. Here's a picture of how my newest embroidery is coming along. It's a lovely positive quote from Abraham Lincoln; "whatever you are, be a good one" and I couldn't agree with good ole honest Abe more :)

Race for Life

A big lot of luck sent to those doing Liverpool's Race for Life today, including my mum, sis and friends. Unfortunately I couldn't join them this year but - fingers crossed - I look forward to joining them next year. 

Anyway good luck on this hot day and I hope lots of money has been raised for this great cause!
